This flat rolled product is one of the most common types of industrial semi-finished products. The combination of a convenient form factor, a wide variety of produced sizes, and special properties of V make the considered products quite popular in high-tech industries.

In the company Metotechnics you can buy vanadium sheet and flat bar. Just call the phone, send a request by email, or make an order via the website on the page with the price list.

A detailed description of the production methods of the considered products, their grades and recommendations for use are provided on this page in the appropriate sections.

Grades

Sheets and flat bars are produced from pure vanadium (V) VnPl-1, VnPl-2 and the vanadium-tungsten BB-8 alloy.

VnPl-1 and VnPl-2 grades include V in their composition in the amount of 99.38% and 99.04%, accordingly. Grade BB-8 in addition to 91.27% of vanadium (V) (at least) contains 6-8% of tungsten (W) as an alloying element.

The set of the most weighty impurities consists of silicon (Si), iron (Fe) and aluminum (Al).

The chemical composition of the considered materials is regulated by the technical conditions 48-4-373-76 for pure metal and technical conditions 48-4-336-75 for alloy. According to the listed documents, these materials must be obtained by cathode-ray melting.

Production

Vanadium sheets and flat bars are produced from cylindrical cast ingots as a result of a multi-stage technological process of pressure treatment. It includes such operations as pressing, forging, and rolling. As a result of numerous deformations of workpieces, it is possible to obtain products up to 0.10 mm thick.

The products are delivered in annealed or autofrettaged form. The thickness of vanadium sheets has a wide range of values from 0.10 to 10.0 mm inclusive. The minimum width is 50 mm. The minimum length depends on the thickness of the semi-finished product and is equal to 300 mm for thinner products and 100 mm for thicker ones.

Vanadium sheet and flat bar (sizes and limit deviations, delivery status, mechanical properties) must meet the requirements of a number of technical conditions. These are the technical conditions 48-4-373-76 for pure vanadium products and the technical conditions 48-4-336-75 for alloy products.

Application

The automobile industry is an active consumer of vanadium sheet and flat bar. Components and parts of the car that work at high temperatures and mechanical loads require the appropriate properties of the material. Vanadium flat bar has these properties and is used, for example, in engines.

Among the other application areas there are shipbuilding, nuclear power, aerospace and chemical industry.

Prices

The list of flat rolled products available for order via the website, by phone or email, and prices for vanadium sheets and flat bars are presented on the Cost page.
