Grades
Pipes are made of NP2 semi-finished nickel; its chemical composition complies with the requirements of GOST 492-2006.
Nickel thin-wall tubes are made of NP0EVI, NP2E; NK0,2E; NV3 grades and some other nickel alloys. The chemical composition of the above-mentioned grades is regulated by GOST 19241-80.
Production
Nickel thin-wall tubes are made by stretching. They are produced in hard form only (without annealing after stretching). Very often such products are called “nickel capillary tubes”. Sizes, supply condition and extreme tolerances are regulated by GOST 13548-77.
Nickel pipe are also produced by stretching. After the main technological operation the blanks can be annealed for making them soft otherwise they remain hard. Nickel pipe sizes, supply condition, mechanical properties are regulated by TC 48-21-783-85.
Application
Nickel tubes and pipes are widely used in spheres where aggressive media that corrode most materials should be transported in pipelines. Nickel and nickel-based alloys have a high corrosive stability. This allows using semi-finished products made of these materials even in case of contact with aggressive materials. Nickel tubes and pipes are used for producing equipment for HPP, alkali production and in food industry.
Thin-wall products are applied in electronics and condenser production.
