Fecral (FeCrAl) and nichrome in isolation consists of two parts - the basis is a wire or strip made of precision alloys with high electrical resistance, which is covered with insulation (shell). The conductor material is usually nichrome Ni80Cr20, Ni60Cr15 or fecral CrAl 23 5. Glass filament, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or enamel coating are usually used as insulation. These products are used for heating seats in cars, warming up building structures, etc.
Products made of fecral and nichrome in shells have a number of important requirements. So, for example, for a flexible insulated heater with fiberglass insulation (glass filament) the material of the central current carrying core should be nichrome wire/strip Ni80Cr20/Ni60Cr15 of diameter Ø 0.2...2.0 mm or fecral wire/strip FeCrAl 135, the insulation material should be glass filament with a melting point of not less than 500 °C. The diameter thickness of the fiberglass insulation is 2±0.2 mm. It must be imposed on the wire by winding the coil to coil. The breakdown voltage of fiberglass insulation must be at least 1250 V. To avoid overheating, it is not allowed to install flexible insulated heater by winding it on the frame in several layers.
Another important requirement is the following. The minimum bending diameter of the flexible insulated heater must be not less than 5-fold diameter of the current carrying core itself (excluding insulation).
The supplied products made of precision alloys meet the requirements of standards and technical conditions GOST, technical conditions). The products are in warehouse and ready for shipment.
