Stainless steel pipes are standard and widely used semi-finished products with many applications. Among the main ones are the organization of pipelines for the transfer of various substances, as well as a variety of welded structures. The product is perfectly suitable for these purposes, given the good resistance of the material to corrosion, as well as its mechanical properties.
It is quite simple to buy a stainless steel pipe and tube that has, as a rule, small values of the diameter and wall thickness. Metotechnics offers a wide range of sizes of products. You can make an order on the website on the page with prices, and also by email or by phone.
You can learn more about the characteristics of pipe products made of corrosion-resistant steels, read about their production, application and grades on this page in the appropriate sections.
Grades
Products are made of high-alloy corrosion-resistant steels, their chemical composition must meet the requirements of GOST 5632-72.
The main grades include 08H13, 12H13, 10H23N18, 08H22N6T, 12H18N10T and others. They are based on iron (Fe), each alloy must contain chromium (Cr) - the main alloying element, and may also contain nickel (Ni) and some other elements that improve the properties of materials.
Production
Stainless steel pipes and thin-walled tubes are supplied seamless and welded. The first ones are obtained using a special broaching operation, which can be carried out by cold, warm or hot deformation. Rods are used as blanks for the production of seamless pipes. Such semi-finished products are delivered either heat-treated or not. There is a separate category of pipe products that have a wall thickness of 0.12-1.00 mm - especially thin-walled.
Another type is electro-welded corrosion-resistant pipes. The initial material for their production is sheet blanks, which are bent into the required shape and welded. Such stainless pipe and tube is delivered after heat treatment. If necessary, the external surface is machined by grinding.
The sizes of stainless seamless products and their maximum deviations, the delivery status, and mechanical properties are regulated by the standards GOST 9940-81, GOST 9941-81, GOST 10498-82, and of welded products - by GOST 11068-81.
Application
Corrosion-resistant stainless steel pipes are used in conditions of increased requirements for the resistance of products to various aggressive environments. Among the industries are chemical, food and medical, construction, ship and power engineering. They are also used in heat exchangers.
