Foil and strip are rolled sheets, the distinctive feature of which is a small thickness and a large length (as a rule, these products are delivered in rolls). This allows to use it where elements of a small size with good corrosion resistance and mechanical strength are required. Specific examples of application areas are presented in the Application section. The universality of the strip is that on the one hand it serves as a source material for the production of final products, and on the other - for the production of semi-finished products.
In the company Metotechnics you can buy cupronickel strip and foil. Just call the phone, send a request by email, or make an order via the website on the page with the price list.
More information about the grades, production methods and application areas of the described products is presented on this page in the appropriate sections.
Grades
Cupronickel strip is made from alloys MN19, MNZHMc 30-1-1, and foil - from MN19.
The grade MN19 contains about 80-82% of copper (Cu), 18.0-20.0% of nickel + cobalt (Ni + Co); MNZHMc 30-1-1 contains more nickel and cobalt (Ni + Co) - 29-33% and, accordingly, less copper (Cu) - about 67-71%. In addition to these chemical elements the composition of the alloy includes manganese, iron and some impurities.
The chemical composition of cupronickel MNZHMc 30-1-1 and MN19 is regulated by the standard GOST 492-2006.
Production
Cupronickel strip and foil are produced by rolling. This technological operation is carried out without heating, so the products are obtained cold-rolled.
After rolling, the workpiece is subjected to thermal and mechanical processing - annealing (if necessary), cutting and trimming edges. Heat treatment allows to get products in a soft state, and mechanical - the required length and width of the product.
Cupronickel foil is produced from strip and has a small thickness - from 0.03 and 0.05 mm to 0.1 mm. This product is made in a solid state and is not subjected to mechanical processing.
The sizes of cupronickel strip made of MNZHMc 30-1-1 alloy, the delivery status and mechanical properties are regulated by the standard technical conditions 48-0810-79-82, made of MN19 alloy - by GOST 5187-2003. For cupronickel foil the regulatory standard is technical conditions 48-0820-387-89.
Application
Cupronickel strip is used in the production of medical instruments, and also tubes for oil and water refrigerators. Cupronickel foil is used as a solder in the production of lamellar-ribbed heat exchangers.
